Wag & Wander started because outfitting a hiking dog meant stitching together product listings, generic gear guides, and trail descriptions that quietly assumed you left the dog at home.
The testing question here is simple and physical. Does it fit. Is it comfortable at mile six. Is it a fight to put on. Does it stay in place when Chianti goes up a root wall, scrambles through scree, or gets caught out in rain that means it.
What gets documented
When gear has actually been used on trail, the page says so and shows the notes: mileage, conditions, fit observations, measured weights, and how it stacked up against the rest of the pack. Products evaluated through research alone are labeled separately — that distinction is the whole point.
The other half of the site is destinations: the details that decide the day, like leash rules, water, shade, parking, and whether a trail is honestly enjoyable for both ends of the leash.
