This page explains which cookies and similar technologies Wag & Wander uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Your choices

We keep non-essential cookies off until you choose otherwise. You can open your current settings at any time here:

Cookie categories

  • Necessary — always on. Used for security, core site reliability, and storing your privacy preferences.
  • Analytics — used for Google Analytics measurement so we can understand visits, content performance, and useful outbound links.
  • Marketing — reserved for future advertising or remarketing technologies delivered through Google Tag Manager. This category remains off unless you opt in.

How consent works

We use Google Consent Mode v2 and our own consent storage. Where you are matters: in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google Tag Manager loads with analytics consent denied, so it can only send cookieless, non-identifying requests until you opt in. Everywhere else analytics runs by default under an opt-out model (for example the US under CCPA), and you can switch it off any time. In both cases marketing stays denied and sets nothing until you enable it. Your saved choice here always overrides the regional default.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it by keeping marketing disabled.

Third parties

When enabled, optional technologies may involve Google services. Affiliate destinations such as Amazon may also set their own cookies after you leave our site; those third-party technologies are governed by the destination site's privacy and cookie policies.
