This policy explains how Wag & Wander handles information when you visit, how we use optional analytics and marketing technologies, and what privacy controls are available to you.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account. Like most websites, we and our hosting and analytics partners may automatically collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (for example, Amazon) may set cookies to credit the referral. That retailer's privacy policy governs activity on its site.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand which guides are useful, which pages are visited, and which outbound links help readers. We may also enable future Google marketing tags only if you allow the marketing category.

Cookie categories:

• Necessary — always on. These store your consent choice and keep core features working. No consent is required.
• Analytics — Google Analytics measurement cookies. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland these are only set after you allow analytics; until then Google Analytics runs in a restricted cookieless mode that cannot identify you. Elsewhere analytics runs by default under an opt-out model and you can switch it off any time. Measurement cookies help us count visits and see what content performs well.
• Marketing — future advertising or remarketing technologies delivered through Google Tag Manager. These remain off unless you allow them.

Your saved cookie choice always applies, whatever region you visit from. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it by keeping marketing turned off. You can revisit your choice at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer or by visiting our Cookie Policy.

Your U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. If we enable advertising technologies that qualify as targeted advertising or sharing, you can opt out by turning off marketing cookies in our consent controls.
