EzyDog DFD Life Jacket: Sizing, Specs & Alternatives

The DFD (Dog Flotation Device) is the widest-fitting jacket in our life jacket comparison, and its design puts buoyancy underneath: EzyDog positions ultra-buoyant foam panels under the belly, which is where a dog’s weight sits in the water. The rest of the hardware follows the working-dog pattern — a reinforced rescue handle EzyDog describes as sturdier than most, a heavy-duty D-ring for securing a dog, and reflective trim.

Two fit facts decide it. First, the size run runs 4XS through XL, fit by girth with neck and length as secondary measurements — if another jacket’s chart has ever skipped your dog’s size, this is the one to check. Second, the straps are neoprene and adjustable, so the fit is tuned rather than graded. An X2 variant adds dual adjustment points and a fixed collar system if you want more of both.

As with any flotation jacket, the fit is the function: a loose one rides up and can fail to support the airway. EzyDog intends the DFD for boating, swimming, and water work where buoyancy and a way to lift the dog matter.
